


I stood there terrified as I saw my own father get shot. My mouth was opened, tears poured down my face, and my body frozen. The guy that had just killed my father stared at me with an evil smirk and dark, glowing, red eyes. He started to walk towards me, slowly, patiently, wondering what I was going to do. “INARI!!” Someone yelled from behind me, I didn’t turn around. I was shaking with fear; I didn’t know what to do.  “Honey! Please, move!!” My mother called from behind me holding back my older brother, Kenjiro. The murder of my father put the gun towards my forehead.  My mother and Kenjiro screamed my name, telling me to move. “Good bye….Inari…” The murder muttered about to pull the trigger. “INARI!!!!!!!” was all I heard after the trigger as been pulled.

“Inari, please answer me! Inari, are you okay! Inari!” Someone yelled at me a million times. I opened up my eyes, and saw that my house was on fire. “NO, DADDY!!!” I screamed trying to move, but realized that I was being held tightly- It was my mom. She had me wrapped around in her arms tighter, crying. “Inari…” She whispered in between her crying.  I looked up at her. “Daddy is….dead…” She whispered to me. I looked back at our flaming house, my eyes widened. “No, DADDY!!” I screamed again, as I got out of my mom’s arms and ran to the house. “NO, INARI!” My mom yelled. “Inari!” Kenjiro yelled stepping in front and grabbing me, tightly. “Let go Kenjiro! Daddy, I need daddy!” I screamed at him, trying to get myself free. “Daddy isn’t coming back! We need to go somewhere safe!” He yelled back at me. He wrapped his arms around my stomach and picked me up taking me away from the house.  “NO!” I screamed at him struggling, crying, and scared.  “Inari, we need to get out of the road for the firemen and police! Please stop it!” Kenjiro yelled at me, carrying me to the side of the road. The Firefighters and the police drove past us and stopped in front of our house. I stopped struggling and watched. The police ran over to my mom and asked her questions. She was crying, and then fell to the ground. “Ma’am, ma’am!” the police called crouching down to her. “Someone call the Ambulance! This woman just had a heart attack!” The police shouted.
“MOM!” I shouted unable to move.

One of the policemen came over to us, as the Ambulance drove off with our mom. “Are you kids okay?” He had asked us. “Yes, we’re fine thanks.” Kenjiro said to him. “Mom, what happened to mom?” I said asking the police man. “Sweetie, she’ll be okay. We promise. For know, let’s get you in the car…you guys won’t probably ever celebrate Christmas again, after this.” He said. “If you don’t mind me asking, Sir. Where are we going to go?” Kenjiro asked him concerned. The policeman closed his eyes and sighed, placing his hand on Kenjiro’s shoulder. “Well, either you guys can live on your own…or be put up for adoption. Either way, we policemen will still have to watch over you both…cause that murderer may come back to kill you. He left a threatening note.” He said. “What did it say?” Kenjiro asked, still holding on to me tightly. The policeman shook his head- “I’ll give you the note when, both of you are older.” He said. “Anyways, what is your guy’s name and how older are you?” He asked us. “I’m Kenjiro Kitoma and Im 7 years old.” Kenjiro said and looked down at me. “And you my dear?” The policeman asked me. I looked at him and said, “I-I’m Inari Kitoma, and Im 5 years old.” I told him. The policeman smiled, “Hello Inari, Kenjiro. I’m Chief Yamichi.  For know, would you both like to live with me?” He asked. Kenjiro and I nodded. Chief Yamichi took us in his police car and drove off.

Kenjiro pulled his jacket off and wrapped around me, I looked at him. He smiled at me. “You need it more then I do.” He said to me. “Thanks Kenjiro.” I told him. “Before for we go to my house, we’re going to the hospital. I wanna make sure, you guys didn’t get hurt.” Chief Yamichi said.
We drove up to the parking lot of the Hospital. We got out of the car. I grabbed Kenjiro’s hand so I wouldn’t get lost. We quickly followed Yamichi, to the E.R. and waited. “Right this way, Sir.” The nurse said. I was placed on one the rolling beds, Kenjiro was in a different room. “Okay dear, we may have to put you asleep…you have a couple burns and scratches.” The doctor said. I nodded as they placed a mask around my nose and mouth. “You won’t feel a think, I promise…” He said kindly. My eyes started to get really heavy, they layed me down as I quietly, fell asleep.

“It’s horrible to see them this way, the poor kids…it’s Christmas Eve…” Chief Yamichi said on the phone in a different room. “Yes, dear…I’m letting them stay with us. They’ll start school in January. No, they’re both asleep. I took them to the hospital. But I’m afraid that, they have lost their mother.” I heard him say. I got out of my bed and quietly creeped up behind the door, which was cracked. I opened it full to hear. ‘Mom…’ I whispered to myself listening closely. “It was a heart attack. There was a dart on the back of her neck that had poison, which had caused her to have a heart attack. The kids will be heart broken, especially the little girl- Inari. She’s only 5, her older brother Kenjiro said that she almost got shot in the head, but he said his older brother Kaname, jumped in front of her to save her life. It was a brave thing he did….” He said listening to the reply on the phone. I looked over at Kenjiro who was sleeping peacefully in the bed next to mine. ‘Kaname…’ I whispered, as a tear ran down my face. I looked over back at Yamichi. “No, they are the only family members left. They have no where else to go. Okay, I love you hon. See you soon, night.” He said hanging up the phone and rubbing his face stressed. He turned around and saw me standing there. His eyes widened, as he saw my pale face. “I’m sorry, sweetie.” He said softly, walking over to me crouching down. “T-They’re dead? They’re all dead?” I asked him. He nodded firmly. “At least you have Kenjiro by your side. He said that ‘No matter what happens, I’ll always be right beside Inari protecting her! I won’t let her suffer like she already has…’ He’s a brave little boy for a 7 year old.” Yamichi said chuckling. “B-But…” I started. He looked at me with a curious face. “I’ll be here too, Im a policeman. My duty is to protect people, and my wife is a lawyer. She’s here to help too.” He said. I narrowed my eyes, staring at the ground. The thought of them being married reminded me of my mom and dad. “But, for know…you need sleep. Christmas is tomorrow. Santa won’t come if you’re awake.” He said smiling warmly. I looked up at him quickly, “Santa..?” I asked. He nodded and kissed me on the forehead like he was my dad. “Chief Yamichi…” I said trying to thank him. “Please…” He said cutting me off. “Just call me dad, you’ll be living with me and my wife for know.” He said warmly. I smiled and turned around getting in bed. He closed the door the way it was before, slightly cracked.

-10 years later-
     I smelt the smell of pancakes, eggs and bacon in my room. ‘Seems like Mom and Dad are cooking’ I thought getting up. I was now 15, I was happy. I stretched and walked out into the kitchen in my pajamas. “Morning everyone.” I said happily sitting at the table. “Morning.” Kenjiro, Mr. and Mrs. Yamichi said all at once. “I made you guys breakfast, since Im off work today.” Mrs. Yamichi said placing the pancakes, eggs, and bacon on the table. “Thanks Mom” Kenjiro said sitting next to me. He was now 17 years old. He was in the same grade level as me. At “Fridge Bill HighSchool” They didn’t have freshman, sophomore, seniors, or juniors. At the age of 14 and up, you’re in HighSchool. At the age of 18, you’ll be out, unless you decide to stay. If you stay longer in school, you’ll be taking college at the same school. It was a strange HighSchool for Kenjiro and I. Our little town was just unique. But it didn’t matter to me. “Would you like me to take you guys to school?” Mrs. Yamichi asked us sitting down at the table. “Sorry, dear…I have to get to the police station; they say it’s an emergency. Do you mind coming to my work and bring me lunch?” Mr. Yamichi asked standing at the door. “I have an appointment at around lunch time, hon.” She said sadly. “I’ll bring you lunch, Dad. I was coming home anyways for lunch” I told him. He smiled at me and said “Thanks” then went out the door for work. “So, would you like me to?” Mrs. Yamichi asked us again. “No, thanks mom. I’ll take my car instead. It’s fixed, so it should be able to go.” Kenjiro said finishing his plate. “Besides, I need to pick up my friend.” He said finishing his sentence and putting his dishes in the sink. “Okay, have a good day then.” Mrs. Yamichi said before Kenjiro headed out the door. I looked up and noticed she was staring at me with no emotion, like she wasn’t interested at all. “Something wrong?” She asked me. I shook my head, giving her the ‘No’ sign. As soon as I finished my breakfast, I went to go put the dishes that were in the sink away. Then I walked into the bathroom to take a shower and put clean clothes on. “I’m leaving Mom; I’ll see you when school is over.” I said about to head out the door. “Wait…” She said before I left. “Want me to pick you up today?” She asked. I shook my head, “No, I’ll be okay.” I said smiling warmly to her, closing the door softly behind me. As soon as I was outside, I saw Kenjiro waiting by his car. “I thought you left…” I said walking up to him. “I figured that you needed a ride, I know how you are.” He said smiling. I smiled back and got in the passenger seat next to him.

We arrived at school; I went to my locker while Kenjiro walked around this his friends. Kenjiro was known to be the popular guy at school, he was also very smart. I heard a lot a screaming and yelling behind me, I looked over my shoulder and saw a bunch of girls asking Kenjiro out. I rolled my eyes and chuckled watching them. “What a lucky girl I am, to have a brother like him…” I said turning around to get my books. “Hey, Inari! Your brother is sooo cute! The girls would die for him!” Kitsumi, yelled in my ear, which startled me and I dropped all my books. “Yes, Kitsumi. I know! Most the girls are trying to make me convince him to go out with them. He’s not interested in a relationship though.” I told her crouching down to get my books. “Drat!! I’ll make him fall in love with me!” Kitsumi said full of energy. She had a major crush on him like the rest of the girls. Kenjiro walked by us, Kitsumi had hearts in her eyes. “Here’s my chance!” She whispered to me. I rolled my eyes. “Hey, Kenjiro wait up! I need to ask you something very important!” She yelled running after him. As soon as I got my books in my arms I hit my head on the locker door from trying to stand up, making me drop my books again. “Ah, ow, ow, ow!” I said holding the top of my head. “Are you okay?” Someone asked from behind, as I was turning around to see who it was I accidentally hit his cold, hard chest which made me tumble to the ground. “Sorry.” He said holding out his hand. “I-It’s fine, I’m clumsy, so it happens all the time!” I said taking his cold icy hand. I looked at him, he was magnificent. He smelled as good as he looked. “A-Are you new here?” I asked getting my books from the ground again, he helped. “No, I’ve been here” He said handing me a book. “Oh” I said smiling at him and taking it. “Uh, well…I need to get to class, see you around.” I said quickly, as I walked by him to my class. ‘Who was that?’ I thought to myself hiding my face so no one saw me blushing.

I started to walk home. Kenjiro had plans to hang out with friends after school. So I got out of school early, to delivery Mr. Yamichi his lunch. My classes were short, and the school was only a couple hours. Though during those hours we learned a lot, which was kinda awkward to me. I walked over to the police station from school, which took like 30mins. I walked into his office. “Yes, I understand…Okay.” He said on the phone with his back towards me. “All right then. Thanks for your call.” He said hanging up the phone and turning around. “Oh, Inari…you’re here. I was just about to go and get lunch.” He said surprised. “Sorry Dad. You know it takes about 30 mins from school to here.” I told him smiling and putting down my bag on a chair that was in front of his desk, to grab his lunch. “Kenjiro didn’t give you a ride?” He asked me sitting down behind his desk, looking at files. “I didn’t ask him too. He gave me a ride to school though. He said he had plans after school anyways. I didn’t want to waste his precious time taking me here. Besides, I enjoy the walk!” I said cheerfully as I handed him his lunch, he took it. “That’s good, just don’t hurt yourself.” He said laughing. “Well, I already accomplished that!” I said smiling. “Kitsumi came up to me and yelled in my ear, making me drop my books. When I was coming up from gathering my books, I hit my head on my locker door. Then a guy asked if I was okay, when I turned around to face him, I hit my head on his chest and fell again.” I said giggling. He laughed at me from my ridiculous story.

“Well, thanks Inari. I’ll be home soon.” He said to me. I waved good-bye and walked off; home. As I walked in, Mrs. Yamichi was in the kitchen putting dishes away. “Hello mom. How was your appointment?” I asked her putting my backpack down by the dinning chair, and then I walked over to her helping with dishes. “Huh? Oh, hello Inari. My appointment was good.” She said cheerfully with a smile on her face. “That’s good…” I said softly. She looked at me with a confused look on her face. “Inari, is there something you want to talk about? You haven’t been yourself lately.” She asked with her arms crossed, while she leaned against the counter. I looked at her, with no reply. “Tell me.” She said waiting for an answer.
      “I was just thinking about 10 years ago.”
        “What about it?”
       “Just wondering why Kaname would risk his life for me”
        “To protect you from getting harmed, why else would he do that?”
      “I know, but he said that he was going to his friend’s house for Christmas.”
   “Maybe he wanted to surprise you and your family.”
    “What about the threatening note?”

She didn’t answer, instead she looked down. I waited anxiously. She did a depressing sigh, “I was wondering when you were going to ask that. . .” She said narrowing her eyes to the ground avoiding eye contact. “Then why not tell me?” I asked. She quickly flashed her eyes at me, with a serious look. “I’m not quite sure what it said, and I rather tell you when the rest of the family comes home, but for now ...let’s just drop this and act like nothing has happened, Kay?” She said with half a smile. I nodded and continued to help her put the dishes away.


“Inari, Kenjiro. There is something your father and I would like to tell you.” Our mom said standing at the end of the table like we were being accused for a murder. Kenjiro had a hard stern look on his face, ready to start a fight. I took a slight; small breathe in and out to relax myself. Our father walked up from behind our mom and took a note out of his wallet. He flashed his eyes at us for a warning and gave it to us, it read:
  

‘’I hear by to say,
   That if we ever see those kids a live; we will hunt them down and kill them. We killed their mother and father for a perfectly good reason, a reason not to be told. There is another reason why the kids should be dead. They’ve ruined my life. It must really suck to loose your only family members, eh? Your mom, dad, and your older brother Kaname, who risked his life to save a poor little girl~! Tsk tsk.

This rich family shall now be poor, though there is a secret to the ‘Kitoma’ family. That their life is not an ordinary life; once they find out they won’t see the light again!

Don’t forget, we’re everywhere and we’ll be watching…even if you are a policeman. You can’t do anything to stop us.

I hope you are prepared to die kids, because we have planned the perfect death for the both of you. See you around. Oh, and another thing.   –be careful who you make friends with Inari and Kenjiro.’’


I stared at the note with wide eyes. Kenjiro just leaned back in his chair closing his eyes. I looked up at my parents. “I-I don’t understand? Who is ‘they’, and what do they mean by ‘not an ordinary life’?” I asked. They both shrugged and didn’t answer. I took it as if they didn’t know. I leaned back like Kenjiro and looked down staring at my hands. “We’re doing our best…” Our father suddenly said. We didn’t move. For the last 10 years, Kenjiro and I were still in danger. Where the killers waiting for us to get older, so it was simpler? Or did they think it was just more fun to torture us this way. I didn’t know what to think. Life is so complicated. Life wouldn’t be the same if it was just simple, it would be boring like it is know. As I was pondering through my thoughts, my phone rang. My ringer was- “Eternal Snow” I took my phone out of my back pocket and answered,
      “Hello?”
      “Hey Inari, its Kitsumi! What are you doing?”  
      “Nothing much, just sitting. Why?”
      “Oh, yeah! Come to the mall with me, PLEASE!?!”
      “I don’t know…Im really not the person who likes to shop”
      “Well, that’s why Im going to get you into it! There are cute guys here to, that would love to meet you!!”
     “Why are you gossiping about me?”
     “I wasn’t ‘gossiping’ about you~ I was just telling them who my best friend was!”
     “And that was supposably me, huh?”
     “Well…”
      “Well, nothing…Im not going.”
     “Please!? They’ll be so disappointed!!”
     “Fine…what mall?”
     “Shimoda Mall, silly!”
     “Okay…” I said sighing and hanging up the phone. I noticed that all eyes were focused on me concerned. “That was Kitsumi, she wants me go to go the mall with her for a while” I said.

“That’s fine, you need a ride?” Dad asked. I nodded, since I never really asked for a ride. Kenjiro stood up and grabbed his keys. Everyone looked at him. “Let’s go” He said faintly, as he walked out the door and started the car. I looked at my Mom and Dad, and they shrugged. I grabbed my hoodie and went outside to Kenjiro’s car. We were silent in the car. He stopped in front of the mall. “Be safe; call me when you wanna come home…” He told me, as I got out of the car. I nodded to him as I walked into the mall.







I walked around the mall on the 1st floor, wonder where Kitsumi and her ‘guy’ friends were at. As I looked around, I saw a girl wearing a bright pink shirt, and green pants. I sighed and rolled my eyes- Kitsumi. She’s always wearing crazy combinations of clothes. She stands out, never hard to find. I stood right behind her, while she blabbed on about school. I chuckled, as I watched her act like a fool. She jumped around and knocked me to the ground.
   “OH! Inari, I’m sooo sorry! I didn’t see you there!”
   “It’s okay Kitsumi.”

She helped me up from the ground. “As I was saying on the phone Inari, this is Haji, Teko, and Lexton. I looked at all of them when Kitsumi called their names. The 1st one looked like the one that I bumped into at school, near my locker. I cocked my head curiously at him. He just stared at me with a smile, which I couldn’t resist. It made me blush. “Hi” the 3 boys said. I waved sheepishly at them. “You’re gonna have to excuse her! She’s not use to making friends!!” Kitsumi said joking around. I shook my head at her. She laughed at me. “Well, instead of just standing here! Let’s go walk around!” She said full of humor. Kitsumi and I walked in front of Haji, Teko, and Lexton. Kitsumi started telling me about her day at school. I didn’t really pay attention, for she tells me the same thing over and over again. Instead I stared at the ground thinking of my family discussion.
      “FAIRIES!!” Someone yelled from behind me, after that I snapped out of my trance and joined the conversation.
     “Fairies are so small and cute! It would be awesome to see one!” Kitsumi said excitedly.
    “It would, but fairies are invisible. So it’s impossible to see them” said Teko.
    “REALLY!!?? If only, I had a special type of eyes to see them!”
I rolled my eyes and said, “You guys sound like kids, fairies don’t-“
Before I could finish, I was pressed against the wall really hard with my mouth covered. “Don’t say that…” Haji said.
          “Erm, I’m gonna look at video games! Who wants to come?” Kitsumi said faintly. She quickly hurried off, with Teko and Lexton.
My eyes were focused on Haji; I was wondering why he was doing this. There weren’t such things of fairies! They were all in fairy tales.
        “Everytime someone says that, a fairy falls somewhere cold and dead” He told me as he let go of my mouth and released me from the wall. “How do you know that, Haji?”
       “I’m part of the F.D.S”
       “The F.D.S?”
       “The Fairy Detective Society”
       “Yeah, we spend most of our time in the lab looking at fairies and investigating them. I guess you can say that we are the ‘Peter Pan Nerds’ Corny huh?” He said chuckling as he started to walk, I followed him.
     “Huh, I never heard of them. What do you know about them?”
     “Well, there are many sorts of Fairies. All with different elements- Though it seems weird because we just hear about them in books and movies, but actually they do exist. Here on our plant at this very moment. We can’t see or hear them, but they are trying to communicate with us in a way. They are like ghosts.” He said smiling as he started to walk; I followed him curious on why he was so over protective over fairies. Was he a fairy too? Or was he just a strong believer of them. I couldn’t tell from his face at all. He was hard to read. Then again, I couldn’t really tell if anyone was joking or not. It just wasn’t my special ability.
             “Fairies are like ghosts…” I whispered
             “Yeah, they are”
              “You heard me!?”
            “Yes, why?”
               “I just thought I whispered that.”
            “You did…”
              “Then how- nevermind”

  Spending the time with Haji, was a lot of fun for me! I felt like we were best friends! Haji and I talked about fairies most of the time, which usually I change the subject on people. I was actually quit interested. As I was walking with Haji, I looked at his ears…they were pointy. I was curious on why, his ears were different. Then I remember that Teko’s and Lexton’s where pointy too, but I hadn’t realized it till that very moment. As I was going threw my thoughts, my phone rang disturbing me. I answered-
    “Hello?”
    “Inari, ready to come home it’s pasts 10 o’clock”
    “Really, I didn’t realize. Sure.”
   “I’m right outside then”
    “Kay”

I said hanging up. Haji was staring at me with his brown, green, yellow- ish eyes. I went dazed for a while staring at him. “Gotta go home?” He asked me in a soft tone. I nodded still staring, unaware that I was. He smiled as he took my hand and led me to the entrance. I felt like we where in a ball room and we where about to dance. There was something about him that was different from any guy I have ever met. Just thinking of him made butterflies flutter around in my stomach. “I guess I’ll see you around at school” He said. I nodded and snapped out of my trance. “Y-yeah, thanks. See you tomorrow” I said walking out to my car. When I went to look up at Haji from getting in the car, he disappeared. I blinked surprised.

Kenjiro took of driving. There was silence in the car. I ran through my thoughts thinking if Haji was a normal person. If he was even human! I didn’t know what to think. Is he a fairy as well? With all the details he told me about them- do they really exist or he’s just trying to fool me. He doesn’t seem to be that kinda person who would do that. As I stared into a bright light, my mind when blank, all went black. All I could hear was Kenjiro yelling my name.

   “Explain what happened?” A voice demanded.
   “Im not quiet sure, I looked over at her she went pale and her eyes went blank next thing I knew, car crash!” A familiar voice said- Kenjiro. I slowly opened my eyes I looked up and the ceiling was passing by, light after light after light. “Inari, please speak to me! Are you okay?” Someone called. I slowly looked over at the person next to me. I opened my mouth to say his name- Father…but nothing came out. “Her eyes are still blank…she’s pale! What’s going on?” My dad demanded holding my hand tightly.
       “Sir, I don’t know what’s happening. But she’s running a high fever.” The doctor said.
      “Her hands are frozen.”
      “Hang in there Inari please!”

I slowly looked back at the ceiling, watching lights pass by.
  “She’s not breathing! She’s shaking!” Someone yelled as I closed my eyes and passed out. “She’s gonna die!”

‘Where am I? Is this a dream?’ I asked myself. I was floating in the air; the room was filled with darkness like I was floating in outer space, with not planets. I looked down and saw my reflection. “Is this water?” I asked looking around. I saw a glowing light in front of me, shaped as a human. “Who’s there?” I asked walking forward. It was a young lady, no later in her 20’s. “Inari…” She said whispering. She was floating higher than I was. “Yes?” I replied looking up at her. She was beautiful. She had a long bright white dress on, that covered her feet. Her hair was long and blonde, her skin so soft like she was still a teenager and beautiful big wings that sparkled. “Do you know who I am?” She asked me in a sweet tone. I shook my head “No”

She smiled at me and reached out her hand towards me. “Come with me, I’ll show you” She said. I looked at her unsure of what I should do. I looked at her hand, and then urged myself to take it. She floated up higher, into the sky filled with shiny stars. “Amazing…” I said holding her hand tightly as I looked around. I was flying. It was magnificent. Then we stopped. I looked at her, “This looks like the same spot we were in” I told her. “It’s not…” She said as she started to glow. I watched her; I started to glow as well. “Whatever you do, don’t let go” She said smiling as she closed her eyes releasing all of her energy. I continued to watch, and I held on tight. Her power was enormously strong, I was afraid that she’ll blow me away. All of a sudden, it seems like we were spinning around in circles, but we weren’t moving. ‘Is she teleporting us somewhere?’ I thought panicking a little. The colors blended changing into different colors, orange, and green, red, and brown…it stopped. She slowed down her energy and let go of my hands.
    “We’re here…”
    “Where is here?”
    “Here at Celtic Dreams”
    “Celtic…dreams…” I repeated under my breathe. She nodded, and took my hand again. “You know about fairies.” She said leading me the way. I nodded, “Yes a boy named Haji told me about them. Why?” I asked her curiously looking around. I felt like the size of an ant. The trees were so tall I couldn’t see the top. We walked through a village; the bugs were bigger than us. I was surprised. “Haji, I remember him” She said faintly with no emotion. “Y-You know him?” I asked
     “Yes…he is one of us.”
     “One of you?”
      “Yes, Fairies”
     “So you guys are real? And he’s a fairy too?”
     “Yes, we do. Hard to believe?”
I nodded, “Why are you here?”
     “You have a special ability, and we would love you to join us.”
    “Join you?”
      “You’ve always believed in us ever since you were a little girl. You never wanted to admit it, because you were afraid that people would make fun of you.” She said. I listened ashamed. “There is no need to be ashamed of yourself, everyone hides something. Like your brother Kenjiro.” I looked up at her with wide, tight eyes. “Yes, even Kenjiro is hiding something. He doesn’t want you to get hurt, since you are very sensitive.” I looked down shocked. “How can I make myself stronger?” I asked her practically begging.
       “Simple…become a fairy”
       “A fairy…”
       “A fairy. Now it’s time for you to get back, once you wake up…go see Haji. He’ll explain”
      “Haji” I said dazed.
     “Shhh….” She said quietly as she placed her finger in the middle of my forehead. I closed my eyes, as I felt as if the wind was carrying me away.




“Is she awake?”
“I hope she’s okay.”
“Hey, she’s waking up”
I heard many whispering voices, as I opened up my eyes. My vision was blurry but it went to normal once I blinked a few times. My parents and brother were on my left. Kitsumi, Teko, Haji, and Lexton were on my right. “How you are feeling?” Kenjiro asked.
       “W-What happened?” I said weakly, which no one heard. They all stared at me confused except Haji, Lexton, and Teko.
      “She wants to know what happened” Haji said
      “We got into a car accident.” Kenjiro said sadly.
      “Oh” I said dryly.
      “I’m sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.”
      “Don’t apologize, people make mistakes”
      “I should’ve paid more attention”
I looked at Kenjiro with a blank stare. He looked like he was about to cry for hurting me. “Oh Inari, Im glad you’re okay!” I heard Kitsumi cry.    “Thanks…” I said as I tried to breathe in, but couldn’t. My chest felt tight, like it was gonna explode! My monitor thing went crazy.
      “Inari, breathe!”
      “Out of the way!” The doctor said rushing to me holding a cup. He held my head and put the cup on my lip making the liquid go down my throat. “Now, slowly breathe in and out” He said calmly. I did as I was told. “Mr. and Mrs. Yamichi, can I please speak with you guys outside? He asked. They both nodded and went outside, Kenjiro joined them. I watched out the window as my mom grabbed onto my dads sleeve and cried in his arms. Kenjiro was looking down the whole time ashamed.
       “I better get home…” Kitsumi said
        “I hope you get well soon” She said waving and walking out of the room. Lexton and Teko left too, leaving Haji and I some privacy.
      “Haji…?”
      “I know, she told me”
      “Truth”
He sighed as he got closer too me. “I am a fairy…” he whispered.
     “And?”
I could tell he didn’t want to tell me, but he explained about the whole dream that I had. After he was finished, my family came in sad. “I guess I’ll see you at school then, get well Inari” Haji said leaving. I looked up at my parents. They gave me a worried looking. “Please say that I DON’T have to stay here” I said
         “You have to stay here for like a week or so.”
         “Why?”
         “They said your fever keeps getting higher, you can barley breathe, and your heart keeps stopping sometimes. They are very shocked that you’re alive still.” My dad told me I looked down.
        “Don’t be sad honey! We’ll come by everyday to see you, kay?” My mom said. I didn’t look up.
         “Have a good night, we’ll see you tomorrow night” She said kissing my forehead and then putting her fingers to her lip, they were hot red like she got burnt. I wasn’t really surprised because I was running a high fever. “Night” my father said leading my mother out of the room. Kenjiro stared at me and then walked out, without saying a word. I sat there thinking on what just happened right now. Was I dreaming again? Or was this reality? I was quit sure anymore. I laid in my bed restlessly. I couldn’t do anything anyways.
